Membership
The Membership Committee actively recruits new members and manages the membership database. This committee hosts membership drives, distributes membership materials, conducts member surveys, and coordinates new member orientations. The committee hosts the annual membership meeting, new member orientations, and the other Professional Black organizations, such as the Black MBA Association, National Association of Black Engineers, and National Association of Black Accountants to name a few. This committee provides a great opportunity to develop a solid network within the metro New Castle County area among IT professionals and other professionals throughout the city.vp_membership@bdpa-de.org
Communications
The purpose of the Communications Commiettee to provide timely communications to BDPA NDC members. This Committee serves as a channel to promote activities to encourage member and community engagement. Communication is provided via newsletters, email, flyers and by phone as needed, as well as via our website.vp_communications@bdpa-de.org
Finance / Fund Raising / Corporate RelationsThe Finance Committee generates revenue to support the organization’s activities, conducts fund-raising affairs, solicits corporate or government grants and other financial support. This committee provides a great opportunity to build fundraising skills and develop relationships with key business, government, and community leaders and organizations through the City and Nationally Social Event Planning

S.I.T.E.S.Student Information and Technology Education and Scholarship (SITES) Program
The SITES Program offers training classes and seminars on technology topics to BDPA-NDC members, high school and college students, and our surrounding communities. BDPA wants to help you become the next generation of IT professionals and executives. Additionally, you will acquire important business skills that add to your potential to advance, such as:

  • Effective speaking and writing
  • Delivering impressive presentations
  • Setting and meeting goals

Strategy and Planning
 The Strategy and Planning committee handles all aspects of our strategic planning process. This includes the development of a formal Chapter business plan and the annual strategy & planning session. Our strategic planning process analyzes our Chapter’s strengths and weaknesses and provides us with long-range planning for a 3-5 year period.

Our business plan covers a single calendar year and will ordinarily be presented to the full Board of Directors on or before the December Board Of Directors meeting.

   - Alliance
     Department
This committee handles all aspects of our strategic alliances with corporations and organizations. This committee builds relationships that acquire and sustain corporate sponsorships with the assistance of BDPA’s chapter president and others. Specifically, this committee is the support vehicle for our chapter’s Corporate Advisory Council. The goal of the Director of Alliance Services is to identify and negotiate local associations and partnerships that represent mutually beneficial strategic relationships.

High School Computer Competition The HSCC Committee coordinates student workshops, computer camps, and the High School Computer Competition. The committee provides and implements a structure to educate, train, and establish an ongoing educational program for the community. Also, the committee draws upon the talents of the general membership to provide workshop leaders and lecturers. This committee provides a great opportunity to provide IT training to African American youths. 
Election CommitteeAs defined by chapter bylaws, this committee forms every 2 years and is comprised of 3-5 members who will oversee the election process. On rare occasions, when an officer position is prematurely vacated, this committee would oversee a special election.
